Free Deep Hypnosis Clinics
The Deep Hypnosis program is part of my menu of professional services. It is a free group hypnotism program that I conduct in four locations in an arc around Chicago, at hospitals and wellness centers. The program is built on the findings of Dr. Bernie Siegel, M.D., that people living with cancer who have positive long-term outcomes also have certain personality characteristics in common.
I have found that if you teach these characteristics to people who do not already have them, they also do better, both medically and personally.
In the Deep Hypnosis Program I use hypnotism to do this teaching. As hypnotism works directly with the unconscious mind, it helps produce change quickly at the time when rapid improvement is most needed. To participate in the Deep Hypnosis Program, you need to call either Wellness House in Hinsdale, Illinois, Wellness Place in Palatine, Illinois, Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, Illinois, or the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Participation in the program is free, but the program is limited to 25 persons in each location per month. Therefore, you must register with Wellness House, Wellness Place, Little Company of Mary Hospital or the University of Chicago Medical Center to reserve your seat. The program often runs full, and there is sometimes a waiting list.
When the program meets you will be invited into a large room with other participants. There will be a "check-in" where participants introduce themselves. I will be present and will use the check-in to decide how best to tailor the hypnotism that day for the people present. Each meeting also has a topic related to some aspect of healthy-minded living (for example, "Managing Your Relationship," or "How to be Positive, No Matter What"), and I will speak about that topic briefly.
When the hypnosis begins, you will be issued a set of headphones connected to state of the art electronic audio equipment. I will use this equipment to blend my voice with special licensed music. Then, my voice will be computer-enhanced to achieve a hypnotic effect that cannot be achieved by the unaided human voice.
The music you will hear is "pulsed" with a special beat that will assist your mind in relaxing. The music and my voice will blend in your mind until you have achieved a deep state of self-hypnosis. Then, I will offer simple, effective suggestions that will help you learn how to acquire the characteristics typical of those who have positive, long-term outcomes with cancer.
The hypnotism will be different each month, as will the topic for the meeting. You may come as often as you like. You may not make a recording of the hypnotic session. However, I often give out free recordings and other material that may benefit you.
